After the developer preview released earlier, Microsoft has promised to roll out its newest Windows Phone 8.1 update. Exactly when is not yet clear, however, although the update has already been piloted in Finland and Argentina.

Adding many important features such as notification center, personalization of the Start Screen, inclusion of the digital assistant Cortana, integration of Skype and a keyboard which allows swiping, the Windows Phone 8.1 update has been anticipated by many users.

The Redmond-based Windows Phone-maker was trying to catch up with Android and iOS, when it announced the Windows Phone 8.1 update during Microsoft’s Build 2014 conference back in April.

The mobile OS update applies to all devices running Windows Phone 8.0.

Mobile device owners can check what Windows Phone version their device is currently running by going to Settings -> About. Devices running Windows Phone 8.0 are recommended to get the update.

It is also recommended that the device has sufficient battery life before starting the update process, or at least that the device is connected to the charger while updating.

In order to update:

Go to Settings -> Phone Update -> Check for updates.

The device will check the availability of the update. If it is available it can be downloaded.

An alternative way is:

Go to Settings -> Phone Update -> Check for updates -> Automatically download updates.

If the device data settings allow the update to be automatically downloaded, once available the software will be downloaded and installed. The device needs to be connected to Wi-Fi for this to initiate automatically.

However, if the phone does not show any available update, then your wait might have to be extended a bit longer.

Microsoft said the update is about to launch, but the distribution can also be controlled by the phone manufacturer or carrier.Availability may also differ due to hardware capability, region or country.

To get a sneak peek of the Windows Phone 8.1 update before it is available on your mobile device, the developer preview is currently available for download. The developer preview is not recommended for day-to-day use, however.

This year, Apportunity is even bigger than before as djuice has partnered with Microsoft to help bring the competition to the Windows Phone platform besides the already popular Google Android and Apple iOS platforms. Microsoft is also supporting djuice to reach major university incubation centres in order to encourage quality app submissions. Moreover, with the support of Pakistan Software House Association (P@SHA), for the first time, djuice is opening the competition to software houses, as well. Pakistan-Idea to State and Reality

Pakistan-Idea to State and Reality By Dr. Minhaj Qidwai Stephen Philip Cohen, in The Idea of Pakistan, cites Al-Biruni as a source of ideas for Jinnah and Ayub Khan. Al-Biruni’s India is admittedly one of the most penetrative accounts of Indian society, but a society of the 11th century, not the 20th. He also observed that the “Hindus are totally different from the Muslims in religion. This is, of course, true but it isn’t such a profound observation as to have informed either Jinnah or the Field Marshal of what they were unaware. Jinnah wanted a secular dressing, whereas Ayub made it Islamic. Did this deviance had an impact on Pakistan? Did it made a difference between a “right government…which aims at general good” and “a deviation…which aims at its own good”. Was Pakistani state’s preoccupation with “its own good” resulted in a near-permanent deviation of governance itself? Above all, what was the need for creation of Pakistan. With the Second World War, Atlantic charter was signed ...
