The meeting took place at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.

Both discussed country’s prevailing political situation including protests outside the Parliament House.

The Prime Minister and Army Chief also discussed overall security situation of the country and ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan Agency.

During meeting, they have agreed to resolve current crisis in the best national interest at the earliest.

The meeting came at the time when anti-government protests in the heart of Pakistan’s capital show no sign of ending almost two weeks after they began as cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan sticks to his demand for PM Nawaz Sharif to stand down over allegations his party rigged last year’s elections.
