Chris Pratt hosts ‘Saturday Night Live,’ portrays Princess Leia

Chris Pratt was the guardian of “Saturday Night Live’s” season premiere, celebrating the show’s 40th anniversary.

“I’m so pumped to be here hosting the season premiere of ‘Saturday Night Live,’”he said during his opening monologue on Sept. 28.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star talked about his 60 pound weight loss for the lead role in the film and detailed the, “Hey-fat-ass-get-into-shape-so-you-can-be-in-my-movie-diet,” he endured to get slim down.

Obviously it worked as he and the Marvel flick were a huge hit. In fact, it’s the highest grossing film this year, totaling $294.6 million six weeks after its release.

What better way to celebrate the film’s success than with an “SNL” skit about the undeniable triumph’s Marvel movies produce.

NBC/DANA EDELSON/NBCActor Chris Pratt rocks his opening monologue on September 27.

“Marvel took a super obscure comic book and turned it into the biggest film of the year,” the voiceover in the “Marvels Coming Attractions” skit began, “which means one thing, Marvel can’t fail!”

The skit highlights the upcoming films Marvel intends to release like “Ant-Man,” about a guy who talks to ants.

“We don’t even need comic books anymore,” the voiceover added. “We made a superhero team by pointing at a bunch of random words in the dictionary.”

The outcome? “Creatures of the Cosmos,” starring a pastry chef played by Pratt, a Harlem Globetrotter, an alien real estate signs dude, a dude dressed as Grimace, and an office chair.

Other Marvel pictures to come include the comic’s take on “Star Wars” with Pratt starring as Princess Leia.

Pop princess Ariana Grande also made an appearance on “SNL’s” season premiere Saturday.

“I know I’m not half the singer Ariana Grande is,” Pratt mentioned during his opening monologue. “But I’m technically three times her body weight.”

The 21-year-old performed “Break Free,” which she began with just piano accompaniment before picking up the tempo and incorporating some choreography.

“In the dressing room at #SNL hearing @ArianaGrande rehearse,” Pratt tweetedbefore the show. “Man. That girl can sing!!!! Like REALLY sing. You probably already knew that.”

“What a surreal moment,” Grande wrote after her performance.

The model, which uses data from Euromoney’s Country Risk Survey, shows Bosnia-Herzegovina is one of the more alarming prospects with a default probability of 27.4% over 12 months. Surprisingly, the country still commands a stable B-rating from Moody’s and S&P, unlike other, similarly high-risk bonds mostly C-rated or on review for a downgrade. Still rebuilding after last year’s devastating flooding, the country’s high unemployment rate, corruption and continuing political uncertainty make it the most likely country to default on its debts.   Belarus, reliant on Russian philanthropy in the absence of other creditor support to bolster its dwindling reserves and avoid a balance-of-payments crisi...
